Today & 'The Day After' Campaign for Gaza
Emergency Aid for Gaza
The devastation of Gaza is beyond comprehension and we are trying to do our part to alleviate the ineffable suffering that families are experiencing there. We sent a sizable donation to the Egyptian Red Crescent, but since susan abulhawa was able to enter Gaza in March, we've set up multiple ongoing programs, including food distribution - a working kitchen, food kits, Iftar & Suhoor bags - to help approximately 1500 families. We are distributing a host of supplies, including diapers, toys, hygiene products, shoes, and more. And we have multiple ongoing psychological first aid programs ongoing, including regular games, storytelling, drawing and painting, face painting, movie nights, and more that serve approximately 500 to 2000 children in Mawasi Rafah and Mawasi Khan Younis.
UPDATE: While PfP continues to operate our existing children's play, supplies, and food programs, we have established a school for grades 1-5. The first day of school was July 20, 2024. We are committed to funding this wonderful initiative, which we hope to grow and expand to include more children, more teachers, and bigger spaces.
